Local Lexus IS250 gets HellaFlush treatment!

Featured Cars

One of our good customers Matt with a 2009 Lexus IS250 recently installed Work Varianza T1S in Black Polish on his car.  He ordered them mid last year when he was still wanting a conservative fitment since his car is a daily driver.  We ordered him some 19×9 +35 and 19×10 +35 and he was happy……..for a while.  Matt was hanging around us quite frequently and soon started to think about getting new wheels with lower more aggressive offsets.  Several of us here in Arizona are running pretty aggressive wheels on our cars and Matt started to get the itch from being around it so much.  We have weekly Weds night meets where we end up having a nice selection of “HellaFlush” style cars around for people to look at.  We can only hope that one day it gets as big in Az as it is in Cali.

Anyways….moving forward we received an inventory list from Weds Wheels and noticed they had a couple sets of the 2 piece Maverick 005s in stock in the California warehouse.  These are already built and ready to go so no 2-3 month wait time getting them made in Japan!!!  Sizing was perfect for anyone with a IS250/350 that wants the hellaflush look.  They had 2 finishes available, Black Polish and Silver Polish.  Specs are 19×9 +20 and 19×10 +20 and they have a 2.6″ lip front and 3.7″ lip rear.  This was perfect for Matt’s car!!!  I quickly showed him pics of the wheels and the specs along with the same exact car as his on the Weds website.  Seeing the pic and the fitment was all it took for Matt to pull the trigger…..thank goodness for tax returns haha!!  Another thing that sped up the process for Matt to pull the trigger was another good friend of ours has a younger brother with an IS250 that wants new wheels, so he threw down cash money on the spot and bought Matt’s Work T1S!!  So with that outta the way and the quickest sale ever of rims without even posting them on any forums, we ordered the Weds right away.

Matt also ordered Megan Racing LP Coilovers for his IS250.  He was previously on lowering springs and was definitely going to need the extra height adjustment from the coilovers.  We did the install on a Friday and it was a long day but it was well worth it.  We had to roll the rear fenders and do a very slight pull, maybe 3-5mm at most.  The body lines still look stock and no one will ever know the fenders are even rolled/pulled by just looking at the car.  We had to make some modifications to the front fender liner and remove a couple screws but no big deal there.  When you want to roll aggressive you have to put in a little extra work to make everything cool.  We also did a slight stretch on the tires for added clearance.  We went with Falken FK452 in sizing 215/35/19 and 235/35/19.  The rear could have used maybe one size smaller instead for some added clearance but the 235 is still ok.

I took some pics along the way of from when we first got the Mavericks, after installing the tires, swapping out the suspension and finally getting the wheels to fit the car.
